We are looking for a Senior Front-end Engineer to work within our Products & Engineering team, initially focussing on development of Access’ central web component library. This is a challenging role in an exciting fast paced company with lots of opportunity to work on a variety of interesting projects. In this role you will work directly with our UX and internal engineering team, distributed across the UK and European geographies, to help implement a consistent, unified user experience across our extensive & diverse portfolio of SaaS solutions on the Access Workspace platform. Working as part of an ambitious team, you will have the opportunity to have a big impact on our SaaS solutions across the group, through building new web components and maintaining existing ones, and helping to drive the next version of our Experience Language and Component Library. The ideal candidate will be working within a similar position currently and have sound, demonstrable commercial experience of working on SaaS products on mobile or desktop platforms or developing Style Guides and Design Systems. Knows the team standards and rules inside out. You’re able to suggest styling changes, assist others and debug code. • You display a strong proactive attitude. • Passion for experimenting with AI/ML to enhance user experience or development productivity. • Interest in prompt engineering and rapid prototyping using AI APIs. Day-to-day, you will: • Work in an Agile (Scrum) team, delivering high quality software focused on delivering team results through both your individual contribution and assisting other team members. • Actively contribute to refinement, take responsibility for understanding scope, risk and complexity of changes from inception through to delivery. • Contribute to the continuous development of processes and improvements. • Identify and remove technical debt, providing good business justification for prioritization. • Analyze, identify and fix root cause of defects throughout the various layers of a platform. • Understand, identify and adhere to design patterns, coding standards and Definition of Done. • Design and develop software solutions to agreed requirements using a range of languages and technologies including HTML, JavaScript, Typescript, CSS and React. • Creation of technical & functional documentation where required. • Take ownership of key technical components or areas of code. • Support testing of the team’s output where required As a well-rounded Front-end Engineer, your Skills and Experiences likely include: Required: • Strong skills in building scalable React applications (React 18+), JS, TypeScript • Proficient in state management (Redux, Context API), hooks, and component lifecycle • Front-end build tools (Webpack, Babel, Vite) and package managers (npm, Yarn) • Deep understanding of REST APIs, JSON and integrating with backend services • Strong knowledge of SASS, CSS-in-JS or styled-components • Familiarity with UI/UX principles and design tools like Figma or Adobe XD • Git version control and experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines • Knowledge of browser performance optimization and cross-browser compatibility • Proficient in debugging frontend applications • Experience building or integrating AI-powered features into web applications (e.g., chatbots, recommendation engines, generative UI tools). • Familiarity with using LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) within frontend workflows. • Understanding of how to design intuitive UIs for AI-driven experiences (prompt interfaces, explainable outputs, real-time feedback loops). • Exposure to AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, CodeWhisperer) as part of daily workflow. Desirable: • Exposure to .NET APIs • Agile methodologies • Experience with UI testing frameworks • Familiarity with modern architectural patterns • Familiarity with Azure Cloud What does Access offer you?
