About you:
As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day to day engineering/operational staff across DBA/Network and cloud disciplines. This team performs a critical role within multi-disciplined globally led teams that support The Access Groups environments.
You will work closely with teams in EMEA and APAC on all aspects of supporting the platform and on-boarding new products and services.
Day-to-day, you will:
• Team and Performance Development: Responsible for managing team performance and career development. Mentoring all team members to ensure a well-rounded, world-class organization.
• Operational Excellence: Upholding and driving operational excellence globally. Implementing best practices with a customer-focused approach. Identifying and owning local and global initiatives to optimize operational teams.
• Engineering delivery: Ensuring alignment and delivery of the agreed 5 year strategies across Network/DBA & Cloud.
• Recruiting and Hiring: Contributing to recruitment efforts.
Your skills and experiences might also include:
• Proven experience in people and engineering/operations management within a fast-paced IT environment working with global teams.
• Strong knowledge of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) framework and best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
• Familiarity with Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), Database (SQL/Oracle) and Network technologies.
Cloud services like EC2 (AWS), Azure Compute, or Google Compute.
Basic DBA tasks such as managing databases, performing backups, and monitoring database performance.
Networking fundamentals (IP, DNS, VPNs) and setting up basic cloud network configurations (VPCs, subnets, security groups).
