About you:
The Group Balance Sheet and NWC Analyst role responsible for supporting our analysis, improvement and insight in to the net working capital and cash flow of our global group business.
The role involves working alongside the Group Balance Sheet and NWC Manager to deliver the monthly Group Balance Sheet consolidation, improving and projecting detailed balance sheet and cash flow reporting and providing Board level analysis and insight to build a narrative to explain underlying trends on a historic and projected basis In addition, the role will have the opportunity to identify and support net working capital improvement initiatives, working with both Commercial and Operational finance, Treasury and the wider business.
This role reports to the Group Balance Sheet and NWC Manager and will work closely with the Group Finance Manager and Group Financial Controller with who are sponsoring a programme of work to deliver better insight to our CFO, Board and our PE sponsors. Clear communication, good presentation skills and the ability to get to the “so what” are essential.
Day-to-day, you will:
• Be responsible for the Group Balance Sheet Consolidation with oversight of the month end timetable for group submissions into the Group Reporting System.
• Assist in maintaining and updating the financial model for Balance Sheet and Cashflow Forecasting including the flow through of the reforecast cycle
• Support the delivery of monthly net working capital and cash flow analysis, including developing and monitoring key performance indicators
• Identify risks related to liquidity and working capital inefficiencies and assist in developing plans to improve those metrics
• Recommend and implement process improvements for optimizing working capital
• Co-ordinate with other finance stakeholders to ensure completeness of cash flow forecasts in relation to other cash flow items (exceptional costs, tax cash flows)
• Work with the Treasury function to support detailed operational cash flow insight including the future impact of a number of KPIs
Your skills and experiences might also include:
• Appropriately Qualified Accountant
• Experience in managing working capital, building insightful analysis and using this to develop narrative to an Executive audience
• Previous experience in financial modelling a distinct advantage
• Experience in either a banking or leveraged finance environment (private equity).
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyse data and identify any issues; but with the ability to stand back and identify the key message
• Effective communication and presentation skills, including conveying complex concepts to various stakeholders
• Enthusiastic attitude and a desire to improve and constantly identify better ways of working
• Ability to use own initiative to develop their own way of working and identify ways to improve things
