Role Overview: We are seeking a talented Automation QA Engineer with a robust background in quality assurance and a comprehensive understanding of QA methodologies. This role is centered on bolstering automation and testing efforts for our mobile app, developed with React Native, and providing occasional support in testing the Mintsoft web application. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain a balanced test suite in accordance with the testing pyramid, ensuring a comprehensive coverage across unit tests, integration tests, and UI tests. • Collaborate with the development team to enhance automation strategies and implement best practices in testing, aiming to shift left in the development cycle. • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts, contributing to the continuous improvement of testing frameworks and tools. • Perform detailed bug tracking and reporting, ensuring thorough documentation and effective communication with the development team for timely resolution. • Engage in proactive test planning, design, and execution for new features and enhancements, ensuring alignment with agile development processes. • Analyse test results and participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis, enhancing the quality of the product through meticulous attention to detail. • Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines, contributing to the reliability and efficiency of software releases. • Stay abreast of the latest trends and tools in software testing, including advancements in automated testing frameworks and methodologies. • Provide support for manual testing activities as necessary, including exploratory testing and user acceptance testing. About You: • 6+ years in software engineering • Solid background in QA with a thorough understanding of QA automation frameworks, methodologies, tools, and processes. • Experience in developing and maintaining automated tests, with a keen interest in adopting and learning new testing frameworks and technologies. • Proficient in applying the testing pyramid concept to create effective and efficient test suites. • Demonstrated ability in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases. • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment. • A continuous learning mindset, with a passion for staying updated on the latest in software testing and quality assurance. Advantageous Skills: • Familiarity with React Native and mobile app testing environments. • Experience with or interest in testing frameworks such as Selenium and Playwright. • Knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript for writing automated tests. • Understanding of CI/CD processes and experience integrating testing within these pipelines. • Understanding non-functional testing (performance, security, reliability) and experience automating these areas is a plus.
