The role: We are seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our M&A Finance team, focusing on the performance monitoring of our extensive acquisition portfolio. This is a critical commercial finance role supporting The Access Group's M&A strategy, requiring someone who can navigate complex financial information while providing strategic insight to senior management. Responsibilities will include: 1. Acquisition Performance Management · Produce detailed monthly performance report analysing variances between actual results and Investment Case forecasts, and monthly trend analysis for a portfolio of c. 8 – 12 non-integrated acquisitions · Collaborate with acquisition finance teams and management to gain comprehensive commercial insights into financial performance trends for non-integrated acquisitions · Early identification of performance issues and communication of issues to key stakeholders including the CFO and Divisional Leadership · Manage the transition process from Performance Management oversight to Divisional Finance teams following successful integration into business-as-usual operations 2. Board Reporting · Prepare quarterly board presentation on historical M&A performance for executive leadership and external stakeholders · Compile and process raw acquisition data through comprehensive management information preparation workflows to final deliverables · Develop and process a comprehensive methodology to present adjusted results and generate insights from the data · Collaborate with Data Analytics team to develop analytical calculations and create compelling visualisations using Tableau 3. Adhoc M&A analysis · Provide on-demand acquisition analysis and reporting support to divisional leaders and senior management as business needs arise 4. Synergy Tracking · Monitor and report synergy realisation across the entire acquisition portfolio using the centralised Group Tracker for executive and board communications · Conduct thorough synergy classification, organizing initiatives into Actioned, Identified, and Unidentified categories within defined 12-month implementation timeframes · Compute and verify synergy addback adjustments for P&L reporting, collaborating closely with divisional leadership and finance teams · Deliver regular synergy progress updates and adjusted EBITDA reporting to FP&A teams As a well-rounded Analyst, your Skills and Experiences likely include: · Qualified Accountant · Transaction Services or M&A related background – preferred not essential · Strong Excel skills · Good understanding of financial models · Strong Analytical skills with the ability to spot trends, and good attention to detail · Logical, with the ability to understand different drivers of key metrics and how these influence one another · Articulate presentational skills, with experience conveying complex business models to senior audiences · Adaptable, flexible and able to work well under time pressure · Fast learner who is able to pick up new concepts quickly Become part of our amazing Access family!
