The Role:
The role will be based in Sydney, working with the M&A finance team and the Board to support the growth of the business through its acquisition strategy. M&A Finance supports our in-house M&A team, while facilitating the integration of all financial process into our BAU Operational and Commercial finance teams.
The role will focus on the deal process of appraising, forecasting and reviewing businesses Access looks to acquire. This is an opportunity for somebody with strong analytical and financial modelling skills to produce clear and concise work to share with your team, M&A team and the Investment Committee (CEO, CFO, MD, Head of M&A). This role offers significant scope for professional development in a high-growth software business, while providing exposure to a wide range of senior stakeholders.
Day-to-day, you will:
- Partnering with our in-region M&A team to review and appraise acquisition opportunities
- Form part of the financial due diligence team, deciphering the key commercial drivers behind each target business
- Co-ordinate and forecast value creation opportunities between the target business and Access’ portfolio
- Preparing and presenting the financials to our Investment Committee and APAC divisional management team
- Ensure a smooth transition and handover to our APAC Commercial Finance team after successfully acquiring new businesses
- Providing ongoing analytical support on recently acquired businesses
- Support bi-annual reporting of acquisition cohort performance to the company’s board
Your skills and experiences might also include:
- Qualified Accountant from a Transaction Services background
- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
- Strong Analytical skills with the ability to spot trends, and good attention to detail
- Logical, with the ability to understand different drivers of key metrics and how these influence one another
- Articulate presentational skills, with experience conveying complex business models to senior audiences
- Adaptable, flexible and able to work well under time pressure
- Fast learner who is able to pick up new concepts quickly
