Job description

We offer a flexible, hybrid working environment where you can balance work and life while maintaining a strong office team-based culture. We deliver on what we say, taking the development of our people seriously. We’ll work with you to progress your success plan and provide opportunities to accelerate your career.   Position Summary: As the Director of Product, Specialised, you are responsible for the strategic direction and effective execution of a portfolio of products. Our Specialised division is all about great solutions in the ERP space specially in the management and movement of goods – think supply chain, fleet management, & production line management among other ERP areas. Our strategy is ‘To transform how physical goods move through intelligent software. We innovate with AI that empowers workers from factory floor to final disposal. We lead by building solutions our customers love.’ Your current portfolio of products at The Access Group includes: Weighsoft (waste management), Orchestrate (Manufacturing), FactoryMaster (Manufacturing), Delta (Warehouse management), Roundsman (fresh produce distribution), Access Supply Chain (Supply chain / ERP), and EziTracker (facilities management). Your job is to set product direction ensuring, customers and users, vision, commercial goals, competitive / industry intelligence, and delivery feasibility are at the forefront of your thinking. Your portfolio today is measured on holding and increasing Annual Recuring Revenue (ARR) with an aim to drive a x3 ARR through growth in existing customer base, new logos and M&A activities within a 3-year timeframe. Product is key to this growth. This role is varied in content and individuals successful in this role will think and plan strategically as well as execute tactically. To succeed in this role, you must relish working with passion at pace.   AI and The Access Group: AI is a big bet for us at Access. Both in how we use AI ourselves in our roles but also how we build AI solutions our customers want to use. Successful candidates will either already have experience in using AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT as part of their roles or be willing to engage in those tools immediately. It is expected that these tools will be used by you day to day in defining your product strategy, while also rapidly prototyping to gain fast feedback. We expect you and your product team to engage heavily with these tools to drive productivity. Specialised products hold some legacy challenges in terms of the technology they are built on, so the successful candidate will also be tasked with working with their engineering counterpart to modernise the interfaces, and the underlying technology architecture. We expect this to be achievable in our engineering teams as they embrace engineering AI development tooling – think tools like Devin, Windsurf and Cursor among others as we explore them. You will also understand and be an advocate for the delivery of AI solutions within the products you ship to your customers as part of your product strategy. We believe, how we use GenAI in redefining our GUI towards prompts, how agents, multi-agents and agentic agents can increase productivity, and how we use AI and ML to deliver meaningful, actionable insights that drive revenue for our customers will be key to our products success. Key accountabilities and responsibilities: You will be accountable for defining and achieving your organisational key results (OKR’s) along with your technology and commercial partners – see metrics below. You will talk and collaborate with customers regularly defining and seeking feedback on roadmaps as well as listening and planning to resolve issues and enhancements to current products. You will work with sales, support, marketing, customer success teams, engineering and technology as key stakeholders who input into and refine your ideas while articulating customer value propositions. You will work side-by-side with engineering and technology leadership around delivery, while considering when to address tech debt and technology initiatives and coordinating that work into roadmaps e.g. performance and availability, quality, cloud cost, cyber / security. You will have or gain deep knowledge of your industry, technology and competitors to help define your strategy while also evangelising your product in the wider industry. You are responsible for the entire product lifecycle of your products including go-to-market strategies as well as sunsetting of products. You are responsible for coaching, mentoring and developing your product management team through regular feedback on performance and behaviours as well as guiding them to achieve their personal growth aspirations.
