About you:

You are an enthusiastic, capable, and imaginative individual with a passion for technology and looking to expand your career in a fast-paced dynamic company. You have a desire to lead a constantly evolving high performing team, and be responsible for the full development lifecycle of new product functionality utilising latest agile best practises. You are an excellent multi-tasker, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and proactively adjust plans according to business needs. You are seeking to be exposed to a wide variety of technology to help you grow and evolve your skillset.

Day-to-day, you will:

• Lead a small high performing cross-functional team delivering a variety of HR/Payroll solutions across our applications.
• Be responsible for the on-time delivery of projects, software quality and performance.
• Act as scrum master for your agile team, holding daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, planning and retrospection ceremonies.
• Contribute to the development/QA of the application.
• Work with closely with product owners, business analysts, developers, and QA to solve problems faced by our customers every day.
• Be responsible for the people management and development of your team, providing regular, clear feedback on performance, success plans, leave management, etc.
• Get to use the latest DevOps tooling to accelerate delivery of your solutions to market – these tools help us achieve things such as observability, feature flagging, static code analysis.
• Own issues when they occur, driving the resolution, report clearly to all stakeholders, and escalate as required.
• Lead the design, architecture, and development software solutions to meet agreed acceptance criteria and stories using a range of languages and technologies.
• Help to ensure value is achieved through development by understanding customer requirements, identifying dependencies and risks.
• Hone your problem-solving skills, by Analysing, identifying and fixing root cause of defects throughout the various layers of an application.
• Actively drive an automated, quality focussed approach within the team, showing ownership for QA activities.
• Provide regular status updates to management.

As a well-rounded Development Team Lead, your Skills and Experiences likely include:

• Degree with relevance e.g. Computer Science.
• 2 years + experience in a senior software development role.
• Experience of QA test automation.
• Use of source controls systems, e.g. Git, Azure DevOps.
• Experience of Oracle PL/SQL is an advantage.
  • JavaScript experience using modern frameworks is an advantage.
  • Domain knowledge of HR/Payroll systems is an advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, log analysis, etc.
  • Self-starter who will get tasks going, and Drive to completion.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, including ability to multi-task across different projects and work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
