Position Summary: We are seeking a talented and dynamic Business Analyst to work on a high profile and strategically significant project within the Recruitment Division at the Access Group. We want to create an outstanding user experience for our customers, and for us this starts with high quality requirements, which is why the Business Analyst will be a crucial and integral part of the project team. The role holder will work closely alongside Product Managers, UX designers and Developers and other stakeholders including some customers to develop requirements for our Volcanic product. About you: You are an excellent analyst who is not afraid to get your hands dirty in order to understand where the real business problems lie and can communicate complex concepts clearly and succinctly. Key accountabilities and responsibilities: 1. Requirements Gathering and Definition - Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, Engineers, and stakeholders to capture clear, detailed, and testable requirements. - Translate high-level product goals and user needs into well-structured user stories and acceptance criteria. - Ensure that requirements consider both short-term delivery needs and longer-term strategic alignment. 2. Feature Planning and Delivery Support - Break down complex features into manageable and sequenced deliverables. - Support sprint planning by ensuring stories is well-defined and dependencies are identified early. - Work closely with engineers to validate technical feasibility, sequencing, and delivery plans. 3. AI and Automation Enablement - Help define and shape requirements for upcoming AI-powered features, including smart workflows, personalised experiences, and automation tools. - Identify edge cases, data needs, and behavioural triggers relevant to AI-led capabilities. 4. UX and Customer Journey Focus - Conduct journey mapping and task analysis to ensure new features improve usability and reduce friction. - Partner with UX to ensure features are aligned with customer goals and accessible to all users. - Champion customer experience throughout the product lifecycle. 5. Stakeholder Communication and Alignment - Facilitate workshops, interviews, and feedback sessions with internal and external stakeholders. - Clearly communicate decisions, trade-offs, and progress to a range of audiences including technical and non-technical colleagues. - Ensure a shared understanding of the product backlog and feature intent across the team. 6. Documentation and Traceability - Maintain up-to-date documentation of user stories, business rules, workflows, and supporting artefacts. - Ensure traceability between business needs, functional requirements, and delivered outcomes. 7. Quality and Acceptance Support - Provide clarity to QA on expected behaviours, edge cases, and test conditions. - Support UAT by validating that delivered functionality meets defined acceptance criteria and business intent. 8. Continuous Improvement and Insight - Analyse user feedback, product analytics, and delivery metrics to identify areas for improvement. - Regularly review and refine backlog items to ensure they remain relevant and valuable. - Help build team capability in structured analysis, outcome-focused planning, and customer-centric delivery. Skills, knowledge, experience & qualifications: - Qualified to degree level or equivalent - Demonstrable experience in a Business Analyst or equivalent role - Desirable: some experience of UX, or a demonstrated passion for creating good user experiences - Make sound decisions and identifies root causes even in ambiguous situations, balancing immediate needs with long-term vision - Listen effectively, communicate clearly and concisely, and treat all colleagues with respect - Process information quickly, ask insightful questions, and test assumptions to solve problems efficiently and creatively - Maintain composure under stress and demonstrate a natural curiosity and desire for continuous learning.
