Working within the dedicated Security team, you will be reporting to the Security Director within the Cloud Hosting Services Division and responsible for ensuring that the Access group is delivering infrastructure, company integrations and large programs of work in a secure fashion.

The job requires a strong security background, with the ability to rapidly identify security requirements in a fast moving environment. You will be responsible for defining security requirements based upon Access Security Policies and best practise and ensuring these are delivered by the identified owners.

The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to lead a virtual team to ensure they understand the need for strong security and that the controls provide positive benefits to the Access Group. Specific areas of focus with be Acquisition and Integration, and CHS projects as well as ensuring that controls around areas such as Firewall rules are being managed effectively.

The role will also be involved in the enhancement of our security services to ensure we continue to provide the correct security to Access and our customers.

Driven by technology Access is able to offer a remote interview and onboarding process as well as work from home during the current social distancing measures.

Security Consultant duties and responsibilities

  • Assess the security controls of potential acquisitions and make recommendations about integration investment requirements and levels of risk from a security perspective.
  • Lead integration activities to ensure that identified and required activities are delivered within agreed timescales.
  • Be a key member of CHS Infrastructure projects, ensuring that security controls are defined and track delivery .
  • Identify key security infrastructure risks and issues, allocating ownership and dates for remediation. Track to completion.
  • Support the business where required to assist with client queries and security challenges.
  • Assess key processes and ensure security is an integrated part of the process.
  • Lead the CHS Advocates program and support the team in delivering best practise controls across the CHS Division.
  • Assess existing infrastructure and services, identifying historical design weaknesses and addressing via the risk management process.

  • Enjoy working autonomously as well as collaboratively on different projects
  • Always drive issues through to completion, taking personal ownership of the objectives
  • Be the subject matter expert for Cyber Security relating to the security of our environment
  • Accurately determine your own and the teams’ relative priorities and be commercially aware
  • Enjoy learning and embrace the ever changing threat landscape
  • Have excellent documentation and records management skills
  • Be available out of hours to assist in priority 1 security incidents if they occur

Your technical background should include:

  • Previous working experience as security consultant or having a broad security focus for 3+ years.
  • Strong understanding of information security concepts and ability to apply them as scale.
  • Demonstrable experience to independently investigate complex security matters, interpreting and mapping them to regulatory contexts and explaining the situation to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in technical concepts, including cloud computing environments, logical access controls, access management, encryption, agile development concepts, security architecture, network security and privacy.
  • Experience driving projects end-to-end independently, including evaluating, defining and improving end-to end processes.
  • Experience with security risk assessments and control gap assessments.
  • Security certifications in relevant areas.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills.
