About you:
As the Head of Product Management for People and Payroll, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our products across Asia Pacific. This dynamic leadership position requires a seasoned professional with a strong market orientation, exceptional product management skills, and a focus on achieving growth targets. In addition, this role will encompass responsibility for Product Management, Pricing, and Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) strategy, including identifying potential acquisitions and completing due diligence on targets.
As a thought leader, you will engage regularly with customers, our divisional leadership team and collaborate with internal stakeholders to set the strategy and vision for our People & Payroll products. You will lead a team of Product Managers and Product Owners who will work with our engineering team to deliver the product roadmap to drive positive outcomes for the business and our customers.
Day-to-day, you will be focused on:
• Product Strategy and Roadmap: Developing and implementing a robust product strategy aligned with the company’s growth plans and market trends – to meet customer needs and stay ahead of industry developments.
• Market Analysis and Customer Insights: Conducting market research to identify opportunities, threats and emerging trends in the People & Payroll sector, including competitor analysis. You will gather and analyse customer feedback to enhance product features and usability.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams, including Development, Sales and Customer Success, to ensure seamless product delivery and customer satisfaction – aligning marketing messaging and positioning product strategy.
• Product Lifecycle Management & Pricing Strategy: Overseeing the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to end of life – ensuring products remain competitive and meet evolving customer requirements. You will also develop and manage pricing strategies for our products, ensuring alignment with market dynamics, whilst maximizing profitability.
• Team leadership: Providing visionary leadership to the Product Management team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and excellence. You’ll mentor and develop team members, promoting continuous learning and growth.
• Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Strategy: Working with the Head of Corporate Development ANZ on acquisition opportunities, leading the identification of potential acquisitions that align with strategic objectives. This will include conducting due diligence on potential targets, assessing financial, operational and cultural fit and collaborating with executive senior leadership to drive successful M&A transactions.
Your skills and experiences might also include:
• Experience in a senior product management role, preferably in the HR or payroll software industry.
• Strong understanding of the Australian and New Zealand People and Payroll market and success in developing and executing product strategies that drive growth.
• Excellent leadership, collaboration and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, along with strong communication and presentation skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing or a related field is a plus.
