About you:
The Financial Planning & Analysis Cost Analyst is a key role within the finance department responsible for overseeing and managing the financial reporting and analysis of cost for the organization. This role requires an ambitious, motivated finance partner who’s adaptable to work in a fast-paced organisation. You have a strong grounding in financial analysis and metrics with a commercial outlook necessary to support business growth and key initiatives.
Day-to-day, you will:
1. Financial Reporting:
· Review financial reporting including P&L, divisional & regional views during monthly close, planning and forecasting cycles
2. Process Improvement:
· Continuously evaluate and improve reporting and processes to enhance efficiency, consistency, accuracy and transparency
· Work with the Accounting and Commercial Finance community to Identify opportunities for streamlined and consistent reporting across planning and monthly close processes
3. Financial Analysis:
· Narrate the organisations cost performance and direction against plan
· Have an in-depth knowledge of the key business drivers and how these translate in to business performance
· Developing KPI’s and metrics to understand financial performance, utilising insight from the divisional and functional finance business partners.
· Support strategic decision-making through the provision of accurate financial information
4. Team Collaboration:
· Be a key part of the FP&A team responsible for various aspects of financial reporting and consolidation.
· Provide guidance, training of best practise for cost treatment and reporting across the wider commercial finance organisation
Your skills and experiences might also include:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or similar professional certification preferred.
· Logical with a strong drive to understand commercial drivers of the business and highly numerate with ability to draw meaningful conclusions and drive actions from financial analysis
· Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities with a desire to drive strategic and commercial outcomes
· Strong knowledge of Excel, financial modelling, and data analysis.
