Before working for Access I wasn't sure where I wanted to go or what I wanted to do with my life. Joining the Software Support team has been the best decision I made for my career.

It doesn't feel like I am in a boring 9-5 job, I'm progressing my knowledge in the software and get involved in interesting projects. I highly recommend working at Access to anyone!

​I often get asked by friends and family what I do for work and why I enjoy it so much. I finished university and struggled to settle into a role which I really thrived in. Joining Access as a Business Development Executive (BDE) in November 2018 was a great decision for me, and within a year I had been promoted to a team leader role, managing two divisions in the BD team.

I now manage 10 BDEs across the supply chain solutions and health and social care divisions in the BD team – each week is different and can include presenting weekly to our Chief Marketing Officer, building relationships with external stakeholders and suppliers to enable the BD team through sales and lead generation tools and helping run bootcamps for brand new starters to Access.

The freedom of the role, alongside dedicated support and guidance through the trickier times is something I know Access can always be relied upon for and is something that any new starter at Access will get to experience in no time.

​Access has a fantastic foundation for Learning & Development; it is one of the few organisations that have a dedicated team purely looking into the development of its employees. I have been involved in the Employee & Leadership Academies, both of which give you time outside of your day-to-day to really analyse where you’re at, what you’re good at and what could potentially be improved.

The Learning Management System built up of a series of accreditations is also very valuable; it allows employees to spend time learning new things or advancing their knowledge of something they already know which can then be put into practice. I have also been very lucky in that my Manager throughout my time at Access has not changed and so we have built a great relationship and can talk about anything in confidence; personal or business.

​The main thing I love about Access is the fact that we all chip in to contribute to each other’s success, no matter what role or division we sit in.

We genuinely are a family-oriented company and take pride in the wider success of the business. Having worked in numerous industries and roles prior to Access, I can ‘hand-on-heart’ say that this company ethic is truly rare and makes working for Access that little extra special.
