About you: We are looking for a UI Designer to work within our DesignOps team. This is a challenging role in an exciting fast paced company with lots of opportunity to work on the Access design systems for Desktop, Mobile and Touch Devices. Within the DesignOps team, responsibilities encompass managing diverse resources, including Desktop, Touch, and mobile design systems, as well as overseeing assets such as icons and illustrations. Moreover, the team is tasked with producing comprehensive usage documentation, instructional guides, and strategic playbooks. As a member of this team, you will collaborate closely with both our DesignOps and development teams to effectively execute our overarching strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will be working within a similar position currently and have sound, demonstrable commercial experience of working on Design Systems would be a plus. This role will suit you if you are: •Excellent at visual design and committed to quality and best practice, with a sharp eye for detail. •The ideal candidate will have excellent Figma skills. •Excellent writing skills with the ability to create usage documentation, sticker sheets, playbooks and how to guides. •Strong knowledge of accessibility is a plus. •A highly motivated self-starter ready to own the role and run with it. •Passionate, enthusiastic, and driven. •Well organised and able to work in a fast-paced environment, with tight timescales and changing priorities. As an Access team member, you should also be: •An excellent communicator, able to build and maintain relationships within the distributed UX and Product Engineering Teams. •Be able to plan and execute daily tasks, taking accountability of work, and managing changing priorities with resilience. •Friendly, professional, and approachable when dealing directly with other divisions. •A team player, helping others to solve problems and improve their work. •Humble and resilient, able to accept and offer critique, and willing to learn and grow through new ideas and perspectives. Day to day you will: •Work closely with the DesignOps and development team to help deliver our design systems and wider DesignOps strategy. •Creating new or fixing components in Figma to a high standard and detail. •Build, maintaining and contributing to our comprehensive design systems. •Ensure our design systems offer the best experience via contemporary design and leading interaction for our diverse user market. •Collaborate with the DesignOps, UX and Development teams to influence backlogs and roadmaps with proposals to further improve the overall user-experience of our design systems. •Work with developers to convey and evaluate design all the way through implementation, keeping a constant and open communication channel to ensure components are delivered to the highest standard. •QA components once been developed making sure they mirror the Figma design system. •Build out usage documentation, sticker sheets, playbooks and how to guides.
