About you We are seeking a Solution Architect with a strong data background to join our Enterprise Architecture team. You will work in close collaboration with business functions and our GTDS Centre of Excellence teams (Customer Platforms, Data Solutions, Finance Platforms, Employee Platforms and Group IT) in three areas: Data Architecture (primary focus): Developing, maintaining, and managing an organization’s data architecture. Mapping the structure of The Access Group’s data and how data flows around the organisation to meet the business objectives. Providing a view of data lineage as it pertains to key operational processes, eg, sending an invoice, or creating a new customer Data quality assurance and governance. Interfacing with counterparts in the CoE teams mentioned above to see architecturally-influenced decisions through to implementation in our platforms. Solution Architecture: Provide solution ownership for our larger scale, cross functional solutions, often spanning multiple delivery projects. Enterprise Architecture: Support the Enterprise Architect in management of the overall landscape, including standards, guardrails and best practice. Capabilities Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand and capture business requirements, stories, benefits and technical specifications. Collaboration with technical stakeholders (product owners, technical teams, SME’s, vendors) to architect a solution to satisfy business needs and technical requirements. Understanding of and ability to apply the BDAT approach to architecture. Leverage architecture patterns, blueprints, Well Architected Frameworks in creation of solutions. Identification and management of solution risk. Creation of artefacts (documents, views, presentations) to cater for a wide variety of stakeholders (technical stakeholders through to business stakeholders) Leadership. Provide solution leadership, guiding technical teams during delivery. Breadth of technology understanding spanning technology (on-prem / cloud) and applications. Keeps up to date with emerging technologies and trends to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement. Operate within governance framework. Lead governance process. Develop roadmaps for a given domain to articulate near term through to longer term change and transformation. Contribute to technology strategy. Evangelise - Formulate and lead conversations with a compelling picture of the commercial benefits of EA/DA. Win buy-in and investment from non-technical counterparts/sponsors. Where appropriate, work with minimal supervision, using your experience and discretion to make good decisions on how to progress projects through value-adding milestones, and overcoming blockers. This takes place in alignment with high-level deliverables agreed with supervisory individuals/groups; where a departure is necessary from these, you make the appropriate communications to make sure that all parties are on the same page. Be a technical authority in your field; mentoring and developing more junior team members as and when there is an opportunity to do so. Background Demonstrable experience in data architecture. (essential) A proven track record of delivering value-adding EA/DA work in a fast-paced, complex commercial environment. Ability to easily form good relationships with peers and stakeholders; emotional intelligence; balanced perspective. Hunger to make a material difference to a business with a lot of runway ahead of it in respect to the maturity of EA/DA practices. A high level of familiarity with one or more EA/DA tools, which can easily be ported to The Access Group’s strategic tooling choice. Familiarity with CRM solutions. Familiarity with ERP solutions. Familiarity with HCM solutions. Training / certifications BCS Certificate in Enterprise and Solution Architecture and/or TOGAF or equivalent Modelling language (e.g. UML, BPMN, Archimate What does Access offer you?
