About you: You will play a key role in helping us complete the migration from our legacy PHP stack to our new microservice-based platform You are comfortable working with existing stacks, and enjoy building better, forward You are a strong team player who enjoys working with colleagues, and taking shared ownership with the team Day to day you will: Write clear & self-documenting code, working with python (FastAPI, pytest), next.js and established agile (scrum) practices Actively contribute to requirements discussions and requirements analysis, and take responsibility for understanding scope, risk and complexity of changes. Work to understand, identify and fix the root cause of issues that arise with the application Provide leadership, guidance and direction to other members of the Engineering team As a well-rounded Software engineer, your skills and experience likely include: Confident in ability to design, write and unit-test new code in Python, next.js, SQL (MySQL). Familiar with cloud platforms (AWS, or others), CI/CD pipelines Working with established, legacy platforms and software repositories in order to understand existing behaviours, and identify issues. Experienced with PHP. Aware of standard design patterns and methodologies in the technologies we work with: OpenAPI, OAuth2/SAML/JWTs, Desirable: Docker, Terraform, OpenAPI, OAuth2, datadog, github action What are we all about?  The Access Group is one of the largest UK-headquartered providers of business management software to small and mid-sized organisations in the UK, Ireland, USA and Asia Pacific.
