Role Overview:
As the Senior Marketing Automation Manager for The Access Group, you will lead and oversee the execution of marketing automation strategies, taking ownership of managing a team of Marketing Automation Managers and Execs and driving the successful implementation of multi-channel campaigns. You will be responsible for ensuring excellence in the use of Marketo and other marketing automation platforms, optimizing lead generation, nurturing programs, and customer engagement initiatives across the organization. A key component of this role will also involve developing and launching a Marketo Graduate Academy, nurturing the next generation of marketing automation professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Marketing Automation Managers, ensuring individual and team development.
• Provide strategic direction and support to your team to ensure that marketing automation best practices are consistently applied across Divisions
• Oversee the day-to-day management of marketing automation operations, ensuring timely delivery of campaigns.
• Set clear performance metrics for the team and regularly review progress against objectives, driving accountability and continuous improvement.
Strategic Campaign Planning and Execution:
• Collaborate with the wider marketing, sales, and product teams to define and implement complex, multi-channel marketing automation strategies.
• Drive the development and optimization of email marketing campaigns, lead nurturing programs, and customer lifecycle initiatives.
• Ensure effective segmentation and targeting for demand generation, ABM (Account-Based Marketing), and customer engagement campaigns.
• Track, analyze, and optimize campaign performance, focusing on improving conversion rates and ROI.
Marketo Graduate Academy Development:
• Lead the design, launch, and management of a Marketo Graduate Academy, aimed at attracting and developing future talent.
• Create a structured training program covering key aspects of marketing automation, including platform training, strategy, and campaign execution.
• Act as a mentor and coach for graduate academy participants, helping them develop skills to grow into future automation managers.
• Partner with HR to manage recruitment, onboarding, and professional development within the academy.
System Management and Innovation:
• Serve as the primary owner of the Marketo platform, partnering with the Head of Mar Tech, ensuring its optimal use and integration with other martech systems (e.g., CRM, analytics tools).
• Identify opportunities to innovate and enhance automation workflows, leveraging data and technology to scale marketing efforts.
• Drive process improvements and introduce automation where possible to improve efficiency across the marketing funnel.
Data & Analytics:
• Oversee the collection and analysis of marketing data to optimize customer journeys and campaign performance.
• Partner with the analytics and insights team to produce regular reports on KPIs, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Utilize customer data and segmentation strategies to improve personalization efforts and customer experiences.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Product, and Customer Success teams to align marketing strategies with broader business objectives.
• Ensure the smooth handoff of leads to sales and track the progress of those leads through the funnel to conversion.
• Work with IT and CRM administrators to ensure data flows and platform integrations are functioning properly.

Key Skills and Experience:
• Proven experience (5-7 years) in marketing automation, ideally within B2B environments.
• Expert knowledge of Marketo, with hands-on experience implementing complex workflows, segmentation, and reporting.
• Experience leading a team, including direct line management responsibilities.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and develop junior team members, with a track record of successful team leadership.
• Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and make strategic recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills, with experience collaborating across teams and presenting to senior stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience developing training programs or academies is a plus.

Desirable:
• Marketo Certified Expert or similar qualification.
• Experience with other marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Pardot) and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
• Experience with Account-Based Marketing (ABM) and lead scoring models.
