We're looking for a Senior Backend Web Developer to join the DesignMyNight.com team at The Access Group, where you'll work directly with our Head Of Content and Website and manage a Junior Frontend Developer.

DesignMyNight is the UK's (and now Australia's) biggest hospitality discovery website, with over 20 cities in total. Home to over 3.8 million users a month, we're bringing our audience everything from London's best brunches, to the UK's most unusual immersive experiences.

A PHP lover and proud, you're not only comfortable with implantation and process, you're happy to build in new technologies to improve our backend architecture.

Committed to best practices and principles, not only do you have a friendly, positive attitude and can work well independently when needed, you will be responsible for a Junior Frontend Developer in the team, so will have to have strong managerial qualities and be comfortable with delegating and helping manage timelines alongside the Head Of Content.

Responsibilities
• Work closely with our Content Team to deliver new features to DesignMyNight.com
• Help develop high performance experiences across different devices
• Improve UX and UI functionality across DesignMyNight.com
• Help us expand our website to other countries
• Directly responsible for a Frontend Developer
• Ability to manage deadlines
• Carry out regular unit testing
• Improve automation and commit to clean code
• Improve our backend architecture

What we would love to see from you:
• Minimum of 3 year's experience in a similar role
• Understanding/love of hospitality is not necessary, but a positive
• Previous operational experience
• Strong PHP skills
• Ability to work with multiple APIs for content retrieval
• Knowledgeable in frontend security
• Understanding of agile and scrum methods
• Strong AWS understanding
• Comfortable with a server architecture

Your tech stack:
• PHP - Required (experienced)
• Laravel - Required (some experience)
• MongoDB - Recommended (if no experience then must have some DB experience)
• Docker - Recommended
• AWS - Recommended
• JavaScript - Recommended (whilst we have a FE dev, it's helpful to understand what's needed)
