The Role

Reporting to the Head of Projects Office, the role of the Resourcing Manager centres on the successful management of resourcing work for existing and new Professional Services business to industry standards

The role of Resourcing Manager is primarily, but not solely, office based and is one that requires the individual to provide a liaising function between Sales, Consultants, Divisions and internal business users.

 

Detailed Objectives / Tasks:

  • Proactively resource new resource requests and projects 
  • Proactively assist Divisions in the composition of their project teams by identifying the best possible resources for each position on the project, considering resource competencies, availabilities and project cost efficiency 
  • Assist in the drive of staffing process until completion 
  • Align proactively with the corresponding Project Co-ordinators and follow up the staffing process until completion
  • Investigate all staffing options before escalating to the next level when a request cannot be solved
  • Provide advice on resourcing issues and efficiency of resource deployment decisions to the business
  • Contribute to pipeline and forecasting meetings with the Management Team to review future demands and availability
  • Identify skills shortage gaps within consultancy base and work with Consultancy Teams to bridge those gaps
  • Ensure that capacity planning is done accurately to avoid last minute resource shortage in line with PS requirements
  • To liaise with New Sales personnel, Account Managers, and Account Manager Assistants with regards to projected new sales to ensure proactive resourcing of project teams
  • Maximise Consultant utilisation through active management of ‘white space’ and ‘Buffer days’
  • Lead on the allocation of client facing staff to projects; drawing on robust negotiation skills to resolve conflicts and escalating issues when necessary
  • Influence key stakeholders on resource selection and strategic solutions to achieve maximum utilisation and effective skills on each project
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Division to support resourcing processes 
  • Influence managers to ensure profitability is kept at the forefront of resourcing decisions, and succession planning is considered
  • Drive adoption and governance of resourcing processes
  • Attending weekly operational meetings to further understand pipeline and flag any potential resourcing conflicts, challenges, and successes to leadership
  • Attend Sales and consulting meetings, as required 
  • End of month billing
  • Ensure that all services revenue commercials can be invoiced
  • Assist and ensure activity sheets in place for all billable days delivered
  • End of Month reporting
  • Support the new consultant on-boarding process to train new starters in resourcing processes
  • To work in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures
  • Ad-hoc duties as required.

Key Performance Targets:

  • To assist on the required company targets of 65% consultant utilisation across the company
  • To ensure all Client billing as quickly as possible with a month end deadline
  • To administrate the management of FOC days being delivered and update systems accordingly

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, specifically Excel to an intermediate level
  • Hands-on experience of using a resource management system
  • Experience of organising, prioritising and completing work to high standard and to tight deadlines
  • Experience of working in a disparate team environment and showing the ability to form effective working relationships
  • Experience of working in a pressurised environment
  • Strong commercial and financial analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, generate insights and reach sound business conclusions
