About The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for a technically proficient QA to join our healthcare team, driving forward the automation to ensure we are delivering software that truly makes a difference to hospitals, in the UK and beyond. You have the chance to form part of a team working on a new software that not only streamlines healthcare processes, but also supports better patient care, and ultimately saves lives!

About you: 

You have experience in leading automation solutions, creating frameworks from scratch, and setting industry standard best practices for the QA team to follow.
You are an accomplished Automation Quality Engineer who has solid experience in automating complex software solutions.
You demonstrate an ability to work independently, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to unblock yourself when encountering technical problems.
You are confident in your ability to challenge and influence where required to ensure our software’s quality is consistent.
You have a “shift left” mentality and understand the importance of anticipating and identifying issues as early as possible in the SDLC.
You demonstrate the ability to prioritize your sprint/release activities and help unblock others, in accordance with sprint goals. 
You display ownership, responsibility, and good decision-making. 
You have a strong understanding of software engineering standards, applying them appropriately to the scenario at hand. 
You have a solid understanding of source code management best practices (using Git), and the ability to troubleshoot issues. 
You demonstrate a clear passion for quality being applied throughout the SDLC, from concept to delivery. 
You have the capability and motivation to enable Automated Testing to embrace a more engineering focus. 
You have direct experience working with delivery pipelines, contributing to a shared codebase. 
You demonstrate a strong understanding of the difference between functional and non-functional test types, and equally you can demonstrate knowing where and when to apply them.  
You care about the impact our software has on our customers and are passionate about the quality of the software you deliver.

 

Day-to-day, you will

Develop Test Automation Frameworks, from scratch, and take ownership of any enhancements to them.
Lead the Test Automation on the product you’re working on.
Support team members to become technically proficient with our Test Automation frameworks.
Identify and remove technical debt from existing Test Automation frameworks.
Work within a Scrum team, delivering high-quality software focused on Test Automation. 
Actively contribute to refinement, and take responsibility for understanding the scope, risk, and complexity of changes from inception through to delivery. 
Create relevant test documentation. 
Carry out manual testing activities when required.
Be passionate about delivering quality software that has a huge impact on the people that use it!

 

As a well-rounded Quality Engineer, your Skills and Experiences will include:  

Technology & Tools: 
• An OO language, ideally C# 
• REST API test automation 
• UI (User Interface) test automation
• SpecFlow 
• Selenium 
• Continuous Testing within a pipeline 
• Jenkins/Azure DevOps 
• Git-based Source Control 
• Cucumber libraries 
• SQL Server 
• API tools e.g., Swagger, Postman 
Desirable Experience: 
• Experience testing HL7 messages
• K6
• JMeter
• Appium or similar mobile automation testing experience
• SaaS
