• Confident in ability to Design, write and unit-test new code using most of the following languages: : C#, .NET Core, PL/SQL, JavaScript, React, Typescript, CSS 3, HTML 5,
• An understanding of Azure DevOps Continuous Integration & Deployment or other DevOps tooling (Gitlab).
• Experience following domain driven design, test driven development principles
• Knowledge with automated testing and a good understanding on when and what to test
• Able to demonstrate the architecting and management of highly available and scalable environment automation and configuration
• Collaborative and pragmatic. Able to communicate with, advise and guide all stakeholders and leadership, making recommendations based on risk, commercial factors, technical approach and strategic objectives. Demonstrates self-awareness and ability to adapt message according to audience to achieve positive results.
• Proactively lead the Technical Roadmap and work with head of development to ensure this is prioritised in the backlogs.
• Analyse, identify and fix of root cause of defects, using debugging techniques and tools
• Identify, compartmentalise and execute refactoring where commercially/technically necessary, with a focus on maintainability
• Work with architecture on validating designs before implementation and ensure what the team is building lines up with our strategic approach to building software.
• Implementation and/or management of CI Pipelines, build tooling, and environments and management/execution of Production releases
• Own, manage and be accountable for specific projects and deliverables, managing risks and dependencies with autonomy.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance and direction to other members of the development team
• Champion a quality focussed approach showing ownership for QA activities and collaboration with the QA team. Prepared to test own work and that of others to ensure quality.
• You are collaborative and pragmatic. You’re able to communicate with, advise and guide all stakeholders in various departments at various levels, making recommendations based on risk, commercial factors, technical approach and strategic objectives. You demonstrate self-awareness and ability to adapt message according to audience to achieve positive results.
• Aware of latest evolution and of the design patterns in the technologies they work in. Able to teach other developers about new advances in a technology and about relevant design patterns and when each one should be used. Proactively helps other developers improve the structure of their code.
• You actively promote and show ownership of Quality centred activities.
• Actively promotes and shows ownership of Quality centred activities including responsibilities for: unit testing, code reviews, collaboration with QA, early discovery of defects, functional testing by developer before handover to QA, optimal running of regression periods, pro-active risk management.
• You keep abreast of technical developments in the industry and are aware of the evolution in the various technologies you work in.
• You pro-actively seek to coach, guide and advise junior team mates; you demonstrate humility (understanding limits of knowledge) and strive to develop gaps in technical and soft skills; you demonstrate individual ownership and ownership of project and sprint deliverables within the team.
As a well-rounded Senior Developer, you will have:
• Demonstrable experience with the technologies used in the required product, requirements analysis and environments management.
• 5+ years in a similar role
• Demonstrable experience of owning and driving successful delivery of projects.
• Domain knowledge of HR/WFM systems is an advantage.
• Excellent attention to detail.
