About you:
  • Access is seeking an experienced PMO Support Analyst to join our dynamic Products & Engineering team.
  • Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Management and working with colleagues from across the group you will provide comprehensive support and coordination services within the Programme Management Office.
  • You will capture and report on key metrics and KPIs, using available data sources for financial and resource modelling to support the efficient operation of the Products & Engineering Organisation.     
  • You will advise on the available standards, procedures, methods, tools and techniques. 
  • You will evaluate project and programme performance and recommend changes where necessary, contributing to reviews and audits of project and programme management to ensure conformance to standards.
  • You will seek to automate tasks and reporting to minimise the overhead on the Engineering Squads, seeking tools, lean processes and automation over manual work.
  • You will be passionate about enabling the Engineering Squads so that we can meet our Portfolio Management and Governance requirements, whilst allowing them to focus on the job of building great software. 
Day-to-day, you will:
  • Provides a comprehensive support and coordination services within the Programme Management Office to ensure governance and processes are followed.
  • Support the setting up of individual project/programme processes and procedures. Ensures that in depth project and programme management advice and assistance is available to the Engineering Squads.
  • Contribute to the automation of reports, dashboards, notifications and reminders for Products and Engineering.
  • Ensure completion of Monthly and bi-weekly reporting across the portfolio, to a high standard.
  • Ensure resources are being tracked appropriately within tooling and time allocation completed
  • Carry out or assist with programme/project quality assurance activities and change management activities.
  • Advise on the use of planning, estimating, tracking and risk analysis tools and techniques, and supports the use of selected tools, such as Portfolio Management software.
  • Provide generic and specific support for the maintenance and content of business cases, plans, and review and audit reports.
  • Evaluate project and programme performance and recommend changes where performance is found to be unsatisfactory.
  • Review the management of projects and programmes to ensure conformance to organisation standards.
  • Manage the collation and validation of data relating to the CapEx and R&D audits, including automated checkpoints throughout the Financial Year, to facilitate successful audits.
  • Ensure the P&E Risk Register is up to date and accurate ahead of monthly Risk Committees. Work closely with divisional representatives to ensure risks are being appropriately managed.
  • Liaise with the Products & Engineering Leaders to resolve issues.
Your skills and experiences might also include: 
  • Experience of supporting the full range of PMO activity.
  • Has significant experience utilising programme and project planning techniques. 
  • Knowledge and experience of Agile Product Engineering.
  • Experience of implementing quality and risk management techniques. 
  • Experience of an IT or an applications development environment. 
  • Has project reporting or report collating experience. 
  • Aptitude for managing/administering/configuring tooling, including curiosity and desire to automate.
  • Engaging presentation and communication skills.
  • Able to coordinate the plans for a programme or portfolio of activity. 
  • Tenacious and able to make things happen with a diverse group of people.
  • Self-motivated with good attention to detail, the ability to work on own and within a team. 
  • Proactive, works at pace, goal orientated with a strong delivery/milestone focus.
  • Strong communication, influencing skills.
  • Positive and supportive during periods of significant change.
  • Ability to work to tight timescales.  
  • A commitment to quality.
