About you: The M&A Software Asset Manager will be responsible for overseeing the evaluation, integration, and management of software assets acquired through mergers and acquisitions. This role requires a deep understanding of software licensing, asset management practices, and the unique challenges presented by M&A activities. Day-to-day, you will: • Software Asset Evaluation: Assess software assets from target companies to determine licensing agreements, compliance status, and potential risks. • Software Usage: Determine a clear understanding how each piece of software is being utilised by a target organisation and for what purpose in order to assess consolidation and / or efficiency opportunities. • Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to software licensing agreements and regulatory requirements throughout the M&A process. • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Procurement, Legal, Finance, and IT teams to align software asset management with overall M&A objectives. • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of software assets, licenses, and compliance status. Provide regular reports to senior management on findings and recommendations. • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks associated with software assets and propose mitigation strategies. • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, software licensing models, and emerging technologies that could impact asset management during M&A. Your skills and experiences might also include: • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software asset management, preferably within an M&A context. • Strong understanding of software licensing models, compliance regulations, and asset management frameworks. • Proven experience in evaluating and integrating software assets preferably within a Technology company or within a M&A transaction. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments but also able to work on your own demonstrating initiative and proactivity. • Proficiency in software asset management tools and data analysis software. • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Software Asset Manager, ITIL) are a plus.
