About the role:

Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure, you will play a key role in ensuring the migration and integration of acquired businesses into our global IT landscape.

Working closely with regional and global Cloud Hosting Services M&A leaders and engineers, you will be exposed to managing projects and hands on, platform and hypervisor implementation, management and troubleshooting together associated systems support, to accelerate and smoothly integrate, a vast range of IT services and systems.

You will need to apply your knowledge of compute, hypervisor, storage, backup and replication solutions to ensure best practice configuration, performance and security, and ultimately successful migration and integration of technology and services.

This is an ideal role for someone who has a solid foundation in Information Technology, a thirst for knowledge, a curious mind and a desire to do more with their skills particularly in the mergers and acquisitions space. This role also carries a strong need for service and SLA orientated thinking with a customer first mentality, and cultural sensitivity.

Driven by technology Access is able to offer a remote interview and onboarding process as well as work from home during the current social distancing measures; thereafter you'll be based in the most appropriate office location.

 

 

Your day-to-day:

  • Proactively work on various merger and acquisition activities to migrate and integrate technology into the global Access Group systems.
  • Perform transition support to various stakeholders.  The scope includes hardware and software environments related to IT systems such as Office365, datacentre hardware and software, public and private cloud, etc.
  • Assess systems and services from legacy environments, and work with the global M&A team to execute on tasks identified for integration.
  • Identify and improve integration activities related to IT and systematise or automate for ongoing projects.
  • Work closely with the Systems Engineers to ensure the platforms migrated are performant and the necessary foundations are implemented to allow the business to continue to function.
  • Innovate recommendations for operational efficiencies and working practices including automation.
  • Carry out technical and operations standards and procedures, maintain and update technical documentation.

In addition to this you will:

  • Enjoy working autonomously as well as collaboratively on different projects
  • Have the ability to drive issues through to completion, taking personal ownership of the objectives
  • Enjoy learning and embrace the ever-changing technology landscape

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of VMware vSphere 6.5 or higher, and a goal to work towards VCP certification if not already certified
  • Knowledge of enterprise level servers and associated hardware technology (skills in Cisco blade compute technologies is advantageous)
  • Skills and experience in working with merger and acquisitions is highly regarded
  • Good understanding of network and firewall principles
  • Good Windows and/or Linux Server systems administration skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Proven track record in ability to work to agreed targets, timelines and project milestones
