About the role: · An exciting role within Access Paysuite, leading a team working on various .NET products and services including card processing API’s. You will be accountable for the engineering delivery of agreed roadmap as well as the technical and quality deliverables of the team. · You will contribute to engineering processes within the team, whilst ensuring the team delivers projects, maintains technical and quality standards and is motivated and engaged. · You will have people leadership responsibilities for the squad including performance management, personal development and agreed team improvements. · You have an excellent technical background and can work on products and services built on a technology stack that includes but not limited to C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, WCF, Web API2, REST, JSON, Angular, SSRS with MSSQL as the primary database. · Key characteristics for this role: adaptable, enthusiastic, solutions-focussed, pro-active, loves a challenge and pride in the quality of your output. Day-to-day, you will: · Lead the Agile team driving technical excellence throughout the development process and taking accountability for the deliverables of the team. · Manage risks and dependencies for specific projects and deliverables with autonomy. · Ensure squad designs and develops software solutions to meet agreed acceptance criteria and stories using a range of languages and technologies. · Participate in requirements analysis: highlights omissions and gaps; pro-actively contribute to discussions; and understand the scope, risk and complexity of changes by challenging and providing feedback to the stories and acceptance criteria · Ensure that the Engineering standards are established, known and followed within Scrum team. · Support test automation design principles, best practices, coverage and strategy applicable to the product. Actively promote a quality focussed approach within the team, showing ownership for QA activities and collaboration with the QA team. · Provide technical leadership, guidance and direction to other members of the team. · Manage effective source control, ensuring isolation and ability to manage multiple branches. Your skills and experiences might also include: · You can lead teams driving high performance and supporting them to upskill to achieve their potential. · You are collaborative and pragmatic. You can communicate with, advise, and guide all stakeholders in various departments at various levels, making recommendations based on risk, commercial factors, technical approach, and strategic objectives. · You demonstrate self-awareness and ability to adapt the message according to the audience to achieve positive results. · You write clean, self-documenting code that is well structured, well-named, simple and easy to read. You stay up to date with latest technology. · You actively promote and show ownership of Quality centred activities. · You can co-ordinate, plan and manage sprint/release activities. You take responsibility for the entire project, can identify risks early, understand overall project picture and make decisions/recommendations according to these in order to achieve successful delivery of deliverables autonomously. · You can design source control structures, select, or modify toolchain and deployment processes, and are aware of design patterns in the technologies you work in. · You can drive and implement change within the team to achieve the business objectives. · You can design key metrics to communicate progress, risks, quality stats and development areas for iterations and releases. · You can adapt in accordance with the changing priorities and remain committed in the face of challenges.
