About you: The Credit Control Manager is responsible for managing a team of credit controllers, and working closely with various departments to ensure effective aged debt management, timely collections, and compliance with policies and procedures. The role will report into the Head of Credit Control, with direct exposure to both OTC Finance Director and Divisional MDs. Day-to-day, you will: 1. Aged Debt Management: o Monitor and manage the collections process to ensure timely and effective collection of outstanding receivables. o Handle escalated collection issues and disputes. o Implement strategies to mitigate aged debt while maximizing cash collection and minimising aged debt write offs. 2. Team Management: o Lead and mentor a team of credit controllers and managers. o Ability to manage team sizes of 5+ people. o Set cash collection (performance) targets and conduct regular performance reviews. 3. Reporting and Analysis: o Prepare regular reports on the divisional collection performance and performance at the collector level. o Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement. 4. Relationship Management: o Collaborate with sales, divisional leaders and customer service teams to balance aged debt and cash collection. o Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, both internal and external. 5. Compliance: o Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to credit and collections. Your skills and experiences might also include: • Proven experience (7+ years) in credit control, credit risk management, or related roles. • Excellent leadership and team management skills, including coaching and developing others to hit challenging cash collection targets. • Effective communication and negotiation skills. • Attention to detail and ability to make sound judgments. • Proficiency in using credit management / aged debt software and financial systems. • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
